2020 Mike Griffin

Mike Griffin – Indiana State Representative District 75

Born and raised in Evansville, Mike Griffin graduated from William Henry Harrison High School and attended the University of Southern Indiana, where he was a founding member of the TKE Fraternity. During his lengthy career in the financial industry that culminated in his retirement from First Federal Savings Bank as senior vice president commercial lending in 2015, Griffin served in numerous roles, including manager of the Tell City office of Credit Thrift Finance Company; credit manager of Permanent Federal Savings Bank; credit underwriter for the northern United States and Canada for Arkla Industries; and senior vice president for the southern banking region for Old National Bank.

In addition to his commitment to the Warrick County Republican Party, Griffin has given his personal time, energy, expertise, and resources to several organizations, including as a member of the Old National Bank Political Action Committee where he was the chairman from 2000 to 2007, a longstanding member of the Jaycees of Newburgh, and a founding member of the Kiwanis Club of Historic Newburgh.

Griffin and his wife of 49 years, Patty (Shackelford) Griffin, have lived in Newburgh since 1977 and are longtime members of Newburgh United Methodist Church. Together, they have three daughters, Lindsay (Chad) Thompson, Henderson, Kentucky; Laurel (Brad) Meny, Newburgh; and Carly (Scott) Settles, Newburgh, and six beautiful grandchildren – three boys (Boone, Marshall, and Griffin) and three girls – (Alice, Piper, and Hattie).
