Elaine Jones is running on the Republican ticket for Spencer County Treasurer. She currently works in the Surveyors office as a Deputy Surveyor where her responsibilities include balancing the budget and drain balances for each watershed. Elaine has been employed by Spencer County for nearly 16 years. Besides her work in the Surveyor’s office she also worked in the County Plan Commission Office as the Assistant Administrator. In her role as Assistant Administrator her duties included making sure the books were balanced and processing building permits.
Elaine has also served the people in her community in other ways as well. Previously she was a member of ABR, on the Rockport Housing Authority Board (as Secretary), and a member of the Rockport Plan Commission Board. Besides her work for the County Elaine has also worked at First State Bank as a bank and vault teller, Rockport Elementary as a Teacher Assistant, IGA as a Cashier, and at the Holiday Drive-In as a cashier in the ticket booth.
Elaine resides in Rockport and has been married to Carl Jones for over 34 years. Carl and Elaine have two sons, Jonathan (Heather Altmann) and Jason. The family belongs to Bakers Creek Baptist Church where Elaine has been a Sunday school teacher for over 34 years and Carl is the Pastor. In her spare time she enjoys making cards to send out to others, spending time with her family, and scrapbooking.
