She completed her cosmetology studies in August\n2004 and opened her first business in January 2006. Being a business owner,\nGries also works as an independent contractor, specializing in business\ndevelopment for Cash Waggner &amp; Associates PC, an engineering and surveying\nfirm in Jasper.&nbsp;Gries\u2019 career started in human resources, design and\ndevelopment, and purchasing in the furniture manufacturing industry prior to\nowning her business. <br>\n<br>\nGries founded Business Networking Spencer County in January 2018 and Livewire\nCo-working in November 2018, which is Jasper\u2019s first and only co-working space.\nIn May 2018, Gries became a Spencer County CASA board member, and se became a\nmember of the Spencer County Catalyst Board in October 2018. In November 2019,\nshe completed Spencer County Leadership.<br>\n<br>\n\u201cI am a passionate, Spencer County resident and a goal of mine is to unite all\nbusiness leaders and create a task force to make Spencer County more\nbusiness-friendly,\u201d Gries said. \u201cSpencer County is ideally situated for\neconomic expansion, along with&nbsp;the collaboration of county wide broadband,\nwe the people of Spencer County can be the first for rural community\nsuccess.&nbsp;When elected to serve on the Board of County Commissioners it\nwill give me the opportunity to achieve these goals. I am proud to say, I have\nspent the prior 24 months gathering information and understanding county\ngovernment along with attending many commissioner and council meetings.\u201d <br>\n<br>\nGries enjoys spending time with family and friends. Gries and her husband, Jim,\na grain farmer, live in Dale. She is a mother of three: Jordan, 28, Victoria,\n25, and Trevor 17.
